The Association for Stroke and Aphasia organizes for another year a National Campaign on the occasion of the European Stroke Awareness Day - May 13th. This campaign is entitled "Stroke Knowledge Path" It will be held in more than 17 Bulgarian cities: Sofia, Plovdiv, Varna, Burgas, Veliko Tarnovo, Ruse, Blagoevgrad, Pleven, Stara Zagora, Gabrovo, Lovech, Shumen, Silistra, Svishtov, Vratsa, Vidin, Pernik, Krumovgrad. For the first time, Bulgarian communities abroad in the cities of London and Prague will join the National Campaign. At each location, a "Path of Knowledge" will be built - a seven-meter installation for experiential learning, the passage of which will provide basic, key knowledge about stroke, such as its nature, forms of manifestation, risk factors, recommendations for controlling risk factors, symptoms and proper behavior when they are established. The trails are a symbolic beginning of the path to stroke prevention in Bulgaria. Their purpose is to pass through the general public, schools, administrative and business organizations in all regional cities of the country.
The national campaign will again rely on the partnership of the municipalities in the country. We appealed to them to disseminate information materials on stroke prevention. New in the campaign this year is our appeal to each municipality to disseminate to their employees Guidelines for proper behavior in case of stroke. This will better inform more than 45,000 municipal employees in the country, who serve more than 250,000 Bulgarians daily, about stroke. In this way, we hope to influence the quality of the first reaction to a stroke on the territory of municipal administrations.
