i Communicate
"I Communicate" is a mobile application for people with aphasia, created within the framework of the project "I Communicate with Aphasia: in a Doctor's and Dental Office", funded by the Sofia Program "Social Innovations" 2025 (contract СОА25-ДГ56-1932/18.07.2025).
The application was developed by the Association for Stroke and Aphasia (ASA) - a patient organization founded by Eng. Dorina Dobreva in 2020.
The idea for the language maps and the digital application is by Dr. Georgi Hr. Georgiev.

The Association for Stroke and Aphasia (ASA) – the organization that unites people who have experienced stroke and live with aphasia in Bulgaria – has prepared this set of language cards as part of the project “I communicate with aphasia: in a doctor’s and dentist’s office”. The project is a natural continuation of the 2024 diagnosis of unmet needs and is developing in parallel with the Program for the Establishment of Speech Therapy Centers for Aphasia (2025–2030).
These two projects work together, providing real and meaningful support for people with aphasia in the Sofia Municipality. The model is clear and easy to implement by other municipalities in the country.
Thanks to these efforts, there is now not only informative and emotional support, but also the opportunity for free speech therapy, coordinated by the ASA.
Language cards are designed to make your communication easier during medical and dental examinations – by pointing, selecting images and short phrases that support calmer and more understandable communication.
