Асоциация за инсулт и афазия става пълноправен член на Световния пациентски алианс

Sofia, 16 December 2024 – The Association for Stroke and Aphasia is pleased to announce that it has been accepted as a full member of the World Patient Alliance (WPA). This recognition is the result of our commitment and efforts in supporting stroke and aphasia patients in Bulgaria.

The World Patients' Alliance provides a platform that ensures the active participation of patients in all stages of healthcare, including planning, delivery, monitoring, research and evaluation of healthcare services. With the assistance of the WPA, we will work together to empower and raise the voice of patients to provide and access safe, quality and affordable healthcare on a global scale.

"It is with great pleasure that we welcome the Association for Stroke and Aphasia as a full member of the World Patient Alliance. We look forward to working together to empower and elevate patients' voices to achieve our mission of global patient empowerment and engagement, improved access, safe and innovative treatments, and patient-centered healthcare around the world," said Andrew Spiegel, WPA Board Chairman.

"With the support of the World Patient Alliance, the topic of stroke will finally be permanently placed at the top of the agenda of both governments in Bulgaria and the general public," said Eng. Dorina Dobreva, Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Association for Stroke and Aphasia.

"This is a significant recognition of our work and efforts in supporting stroke and aphasia patients. Our membership in the World Patients' Alliance will allow us to expand our capabilities and work even harder to improve the quality of life of our patients," said Dr. Georgi Georgiev, Deputy Chairman of the Association for Stroke and Aphasia.

The Association for Stroke and Aphasia will continue to inform the WPA about its current and upcoming events, which will be promoted through the alliance's website, social media and newsletter.
