Today, students of Speech and Language Therapy from the Faculty of Educational Studies and the Arts at Sofia University visited the Aphasia Therapy Center at DCU 17. The visit aimed to introduce them to specialization opportunities in the field of aphasia therapy, as well as to provide insight into real-world practice in this important professional domain.
The centers have been established under a joint memorandum between the Sofia Municipality, the Association for Stroke and Aphasia, and Sofia University (Faculty of Educational Studies and the Arts). During the meeting, the students were introduced to the concept, development, and current activities of the centers, as well as to the opportunities they offer for professional training and future specialization.
The presentation featured Prof. Dr. Katerina Shtereva on behalf of the Faculty, and Dr. Georgi Georgiev representing the Association for Stroke and Aphasia. Speech and language therapist Bistra Molhova provided the students with the opportunity to closely observe the practical work carried out in the center.
The meeting was an inspiring and valuable step toward bridging academic training with real-life speech and language therapy practice.
